100HP Water Cooled Screw Chiller is one of the best selling industrial chillers for plastic molding machines. It is an indoor use industrial water chiller. The 100 HP water cooled screw chiller adopt 2set of 50HP Hanbell screw compressors.  If you are consider the chiller price, you can also chose the Single compressor chiller 100HP to save the chiller cost.

Industrial chillers are essential auxiliary equipment in plastic production, and water-cooled screw chillers are widely used in plastic factories.  In the plastics industry, water-cooled screw chillers are primarily used for mold cooling and process temperature control in processes such as injection molding and extrusion. Their core function is to precisely regulate mold temperature through circulating cooling water, ensuring the molding quality and production efficiency of plastic products.
In injection molding, the chiller controls the cooling rate and fluidity of the plastic by cooling the mold, preventing shrinkage, deformation, or surface defects caused by excessive temperature, or insufficient filling and bubbles caused by insufficient temperature. This improves surface finish, dimensional stability, and ease of demolding, shortens the molding cycle, and reduces the scrap rate.


In the extrusion process, the chiller is used to cool the extrusion mold or traction equipment, ensuring rapid solidification of the plastic material and preventing material degradation or uneven thickness due to overheating, thus improving production continuity and product consistency.
This 100 HP water-cooled chiller unit is equipped with a Hanbell twin-screw compressor, offering stable operation and high reliability. The compressor can adjust its load according to different demands, making it very energy-efficient.  Furthermore, a fault in one system does not affect the normal operation of the other system. Water-cooled screw chillers utilize screw compressors as their core component, combined with a water-cooling system, offering significant advantages in energy efficiency, stability, and adaptability.
High Efficiency, Energy Saving, and Environmental Performance: The screw compressor features precise rotor meshing and high volumetric efficiency, with a coefficient of performance (COP) typically exceeding 4.0, reducing energy consumption by 15%-20% compared to piston-type units of the same specifications. Some models achieve an 11%-15% increase in energy efficiency under variable frequency drive; the water-cooling method utilizes the high specific heat capacity of water, allowing the condensation temperature to be controlled at around 40℃, more than 10℃ lower than air-cooled units.  For every 1℃ decrease in condensation temperature, efficiency increases by approximately 3%, making the energy-saving advantage more pronounced in high-temperature environments;  it also uses environmentally friendly refrigerants such as R134a, R513A, and R404A, with low global warming potential (GWP), complying with environmental regulations.
Stable and Reliable Operation and Long Lifespan: The screw compressor has a simple structure and fewer moving parts, with an average mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeding 8000 hours. The outlet water temperature fluctuation is controlled within ±0.5℃, superior to the ±1.5℃ of piston-type units, ensuring constant temperature for processes; the unit has a design life of 15-20 years, 5-8 years longer than piston-type units, and can maintain more than 80% of its cooling capacity after long-term use, reducing replacement frequency.
Flexible Capacity Adjustment and Adaptability:  Stepless capacity adjustment from 10%-100% is achieved through slide valve control, adapting to load changes and avoiding energy waste. Some models support variable frequency drive, maintaining a high COP value under partial load; it has a wide range of applications, with cooling capacities covering 100kW to 3000kW, providing outlet water temperatures from -40℃ to 30℃, suitable for various scenarios such as central air conditioning, industrial refrigeration, chemical industry, and food processing.
Compact Structure and Low Noise Design: The screw compressor has a compact structure, reducing the footprint by 30%-40% compared to piston-type units with the same cooling capacity, making installation convenient; the operating noise is below 75 decibels, and can be further reduced through sound insulation design, suitable for places requiring low noise levels such as hospitals and hotels. Easy Maintenance and Safety Protection:  With fewer vulnerable parts, the main maintenance work involves only periodically replacing the lubricating oil and filters, with a maintenance cycle of up to 2000 hours. Each maintenance session takes no more than 2 hours, saving labor and downtime compared to piston-type units.  It integrates multiple protection mechanisms, including high and low pressure protection, anti-freezing protection, and phase loss protection. Since 2019, a low oil level protection function has been added, further enhancing operational safety.
